The Simple Life Coffee began as a college project during my time at Georgia Southern University, where I was pursuing a degree in International Trade. Heading into my senior year, I was required to complete an internship to graduate. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my internship was canceled.
That summer, I traveled to Colombia to visit my grandfather, who introduced me to the coffee our family had recently started growing as a side project on the farm. Inspired by its potential, I proposed creating a business centered on international trade—one that incorporated every stage of the supply chain, as a substitute for my internship. Although it was an unusual request, the dean approved it, and that’s how The Simple Life Coffee was born.
After graduating, I pursued a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Michigan State University, where I deepened my focus on blending coffee, technology, and seamless user experiences. Around this time, The Simple Life Coffee began to follow me through my own personal life journey—moving to different cities, navigating unexpected detours, and growing alongside me. As I evolved, so did the business, adapting to new opportunities, challenges, and perspectives.
What began as a substitute internship project has become something much bigger: a reflection of my passions for entrepreneurship, travel, and creating meaningful connections. The Simple Life Coffee is more than a brand, it’s a piece of my story, and a way to share that story with others, one cup at a time.
